IT HAS been more than 50 years since Roald Dahl wrote his popular children's story 'James and the Giant Peach' and it still remains very much a favourite today.

The story, was originally about a cherry until Roald decided a peach was prettier, bigger and squashier.

The plot centres on James a young orphan who lives with his horrible aunts, Spiker and Sponge. He is lonely and miserable, until one day with the help of a magic potion, he befriends some very special insects and escapes in a peach as large as a house.

Following the success of their last production, Alice in Wonderland Burley Theatre Group are re-creating the classic Roald Dahl story, with plenty of music, fun and juicy adventures.

Performances are at the Queens Hall, Burley in Wharfedale on Thursday January 28 to Friday January 29 at 7.30pm, and then on Saturday January 30 at 1pm and 5.30pm.

Tickets can be booked online at burleytheatre.org.uk or by calling Jo Robinson on (01943) 862607.
