ILKLEY singer-songwriter Rupert Stroud is to support band Texas at Leeds' Millennium Square tomorrow night (Friday July 31).
Texas are celebrating their 25th Anniversary in style with the release of their latest album 'TEXAS 25' which celebrates the very best of the multi-million selling multi-platinum, Ivor Novello Award winning band.
Rupert says singer, Sharlene Spiteri, the rest of the band, and its management, all had to personally approve him for the gig - and loved his new single The Truth.
He is expected to play to an audience of 5,000 tomorrow.
He said: "It's been a fantastic year so far, once again, for myself and my music career, with my last EP, "Talk To You", reaching no. 11 in the iTunes Singer/songwriter charts in Spring. My latest single "The Truth" (released on July 22) has received radio play support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and BFBS Radio (British Forces Broadcasting service) Internationally and regional radio stations across the UK. The single has now been played on over 60 regional radio stations."
