A TWENTY piece big band will play a concert at a Beechcliffe Special School in Utley to help raise money for a school minibus.

The Sultans of Swing will perform on March 20 to raise money for registered charity Friends At Beechcliffe (FAB).

The charity is raising money to buy an adapted minibus for the students at the school, who come from across the Airedale and Wharfedale.

All Beechcliffe students have varying degrees of extra needs from autism and visual impairment to cerebral palsy and complex physical disabilities, and the minibus will allow them to spend more time interacting with the local community in readiness for leaving the education system.

The minibus will allow the students to visit places linked in to their curriculum.

The school and FAB have events planned, including in a Summer Fayre on June 20.

Tickets are available from Beechcliffe School or from Julian Maxfield, call 07720389480. Tickets are £10, which includes entry and a raffle.

Doors open at 7.15pm and the show starts at 8pm.
