A NEW club to help jobseekers is up and running in Otley.

Otley Work Club runs from 10am to noon every alternative Thursday at the Otley Core Resource Centre.

It can help with free access to online job search sites, job applications and CVs and provide advice on how to prepare for job interviews and provide information about jobs and training.

Aimed at people who are either unemployed or looking for a change, the group is led by volunteers with experience in a variety of different business fields.

An Otley Town Council backed initiative, it started last October and has secured funding for five laptops which members can use.

Councillor Kevin Cooney (Lab, West Chevin) said: “The aim of the Work Club is to help and support people in any way that might help them to find suitable work or training. The atmosphere we are trying to create is a friendly and informal one.”

Appointments can be booked by calling (01943) 466335 or calling in to the Core, on Orchard Gate.
