Children from Bramhope Primary School met their sporting heroes when they enjoyed a morning with the England Rugby Union team.

Fourteen pupils from the school attended an open training session in Leeds as part of a 2,500- strong crowd at the University of Leeds’s Weetwood Sports Ground.

The team’s ten-day training camp in Leeds culminated in an open training session in front of spectators from Yorkshire’s schools, rugby clubs and universities.

It was the first time the RFU had opened up an England training session to the public outside of their Twickenham headquarters – and the event was used as an opportunity to reconnect with grassroots supporters.

Bramhope pupils were able to meet their heroes and get autographs and photos – posing with England second-row Tom Palmer who was part of the England team which defeated Scotland in their opening game of this year’s Six Nations Tournament.
