OTLEY Town found a two-division gap too much to bridge in a West Yorkshire League quarter-final.

Hosts Leeds City, who are second in the Premier Division, beat the visitors, who are third in Division Two, 4-2 in the League Cup.

In arctic conditions, Town's Connor Wilson made it 1-1 and Callan Wells put them in front, after good harrying by Luke Stainthorpe, but that was as good as it got.

In the top flight, third-placed Ilkley Town drew 2-2 at fifth-placed Horbury Town, courtesy of goals by Robin Layton and Lee Spires.

Leaders Otley Town Reserves kept pressure on the three teams immediately below them in Alliance Division Two with a 2-1 home victory over third-placed Whitkirk Wanderers Reserves, with goals from Charlie Cartwright and Adam Campbell.

Ilkley Town Reserves climbed from seventh to fifth on the back of a 4-2 home victory over Boroughbridge Reserves.

Goals came from Dec Bradley, substitute Oli Mee, James Ayre and Chris Morris, with three of their goals coming in the last ten minutes.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves climbed a spot to 11th after a 2-1 triumph at tenth-placed Wetherby Athletic Reserves.
