Kirk Deighton 1 Otley Town 2

OTLEY Town had to did deep to unearth another three West Yorkshire League Division Two points in their midweek trip to Kirk Deighton.

With a growing injury list and a number of key absentees, manager Chris Peachey was forced to make changes to his unbeaten side.

Kirk Deighton, who were last season's Harrogate and District League Premier Division champions, proved a tough nut to crack.

Neither side could take a grip on the game although Town's keeper James Senior was forced to make a couple of saves.

With time running out, Town introduced strikers Ben McArdle and Frederick Pessu in a change of formation.

Connor Wilson was also introduced into the game to try and probe for a weakness in Kirk Deighton's defence.

Town's efforts were finally rewarded when skipper Long headed home from a corner.

With minutes on the clock, town found another gear to see out the game strong.

In the dying seconds of the game Town's Rick Parry found Pessu with a 40 yard pass over the defence.

Pessu controlled the ball neatly and finished into the bottom corner to cue Town celebrations.
