MENSTON Fourths won the toss but lost the match at Silsden II in Timothy Taylor’s Craven League Division Three.

New-ball bowlers Tom Holder (2-51) and Will Morgan (2-29) helped to reduce Silsden to 73-6 but an unbroken stand of 45 took them to 132-6.

Will Lowans then top-scored with 28, but only two of his colleagues also made double figures as they were dismissed for 98 in the 35th over.

There was no joy either for Menston Fifths, who lost at Hepworth & Idle III by seven wickets in Division Four.

Only Ali Asghar (25) and Rory Southern (11) troubled the scorers to any degree as Menston were dismissed for 78 after winning the toss.

The Westfield Laners were 20-2 in reply before a stand of 57 helped them home in the 27th over, with Owen Pothecary returning 2-37.
