GUISELEY captain Hamza Bencherif has departed for Worksop Town after spending three years with the Nethermoor side.

The Lions' 12-year stay in the Vanarama National League structure ended in dramatic fashion with a late 2-1 defeat to Alfreton Town in May, and since then Danny Ellis' key players have been picked off by a number of clubs after several of his men decided against a new contract.

Guiseley's now former captain went on to make 90 appearances for the club over a three year spell.

He has joined Dom Tear, Jamie Spencer and Lebrun Mbeka in leaving the club, the latter departing to Boston United on Thursday.

Through his Twitter, Mbeka said: "I would like to thank everyone at Guiseley for the great times I experienced at the club. I give a big thank you to all the managers, staff, players and fans who have been brilliant and have always supported me. I wish Guiseley all the best in the future."
