THERE was a full programme of West Riding County League fixtures last Sunday, with most of the goals scored in the County First Division.

Ilkley Town were hoping to continue their good form against Farsley Juniors’ Reserves but found themselves 2–0 down after 12 minutes. However, they turned it round in an end-to-end thriller to win 7–5, with five goals from Eva Curran and two from Neve Tennant.

Skipton Town were 3–0 down at half-time over at Morley. But a huge second half saw Skipton come back to level the game at full time, thanks to a Beth Bancroft brace, and a goal from Emily Throup.

Tyersal had Jacie-Leigh Wood and Demi Pringle on target but lost 3–2 at Huddersfield Amateur.

In County Premier, Brighouse Sports were at home to Brayton Belles.

After only 10 minutes, Abbie Whitehead put Sports 1–0 up. Belles pulled one back, but Brighouse were ahead at the break, after a rare Emily Holroyd goal.

Kennedy Power comfortably lobbed the keeper for another goal, before Brayton grabbed another one back. But Brighouse’ defence held firm for the 3–2 win.

Thackley were hoping to build on the previous double victory as they hosted Ossett Development in another “six-pointer”.

Unfortunately, Ossett were 3–0 up just before the end as Lois Cooper grabbed a consolation goal in the final few seconds.

Silsden were involved in a dual fixture at Ripon, but lost 3–0 and 3–1, with Poppy Best scoring the Dragons’ only goal.

Field Ladies were at County Second runaway leaders Hepworth.

Field took the lead as Anna Mitchell chipped the ball past the goalkeeper into the top corner. However, five minutes later Hepworth were level after a penalty award and went 2–1 up just before half time.

The second half saw Hepworth come out fast and within five minutes the score was 3–1. Field had plenty of chances, with Megan Schofield coming close twice, then she slotted the ball past the keeper to end the game at 3–2.

Tuesday night saw Field entertain Farsley Junior Devs, with both teams coming out fighting with end-to-end, exciting, creative play. After 15 minutes, Charlotte Hill chipped the ’keeper to open the scoring, then three minutes later, Tasha Williams scored with her left foot to put Field 2–0 up. However, Farsley attacked and found the back of the net to make it 2–1 at the break.

After being denied by the Farsley goalkeeper a few times, Megan Schofield finally found the back of the net for a 3–1 result.
