OTLEY Town enjoyed a ‘jog in the park’ with a eight-nil victory over Wetherby Athletic at the weekend.
Otley’s opener came from Jonathan Jackson who headed in powerfully at the far post. Five minutes later – deja vu – but this time Greig Hudson heading home a Mark McGee corner. A third was added after 35 minutes when Callan Parker-Wells was taken down and McGee scored the penalty.
Hawkins notched Otley’s fourth with a peach of a goal, followed by skipper Rick Parry who bundled in at close range. Otley’s sixth came from the seasoned Andy Howland, and he added another five minutes later for the seventh.
The final goal came via a penalty after Howland was pole-axed. On a hat-trick – Howland generously allowed Wilson to take the spot kick and register his first goal for two years.
Man of the Match went to Harry. On Saturday, Town travel to fellow high-flyers East End Park looking to keep up the pressure on the top three.
