BRADFORD (Park Avenue) played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Hyde United on Saturday in their fifth pre-season fixture ahead of the new campaign.

The away trip to Hyde saw a closely contested game, however it was Avenue who went into the break with a 3-2 lead.

It was a trialist who took the lead for the away side in the third minute-as he cut inside onto his right foot and curled a delicious effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Hyde levelled on minute 21 but Avenue took the lead again only two minutes later with Jordan Fagbola heading past the keeper.

A Hyde equaliser and a Guilfoyle strike saw the game through to half-time.

Isaac Marriot got the fourth in the second half but two late goals ensured the comeback for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Premier League referee Jon Moss took charge of the Steeton v Main Road fixture.

The Chevrons, who were playing host to their opposition- were beaten 3-1.

On Tuesday, Silsden were beaten by Charnock FC by four goals to one away from home. They were also scheduled to play Campion on Friday but the game was cancelled.

Brighouse Town hosted Matlock Town on Saturday and were beaten 3-2 in an exciting fixture.

It only took Brighouse four minutes to break the deadlock as Laurence Sorhaindo hit a strike on the half volley from 30 yards out and it flew into the back of the net.

The away side levelled on minute 14, however only seven minutes later Sorhaindo added to his tally by securing a brace.

The cross came in from the right and the in-form man leapt highest to head home.

Unfortunately for Brighouse, the game turned on its head in the second half and Matlock secured a 3-2 away win.

Elsewhere, Ilkley Town took part in their final pre-season fixture against Otley Town and ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.

After four minutes, Town took the lead with James Hughes scoring the goal.

James Hughes received the ball in the box, before turning and firing a shot into the top corner.

Four minutes later, Tom Fleming chipped a cross towards Kevin Gonzalez, who headed the ball back across goal beyond the keeper.

Second half goals from Ben Atkinson and Gonzalez eased the away side to a 4-0 victory.
