THE West Riding County Women’s Football League will have nine new sides next season.

They are Athletico, Bradford (Park Avenue) Development, Brighouse Town U19, Burley Trojans, Farsley Celtic Women Reserves, Horsforth St. Margaret's, Huddersfield Amateur Reserves, Queensbury Celtic and Ryburn United.

A revised league table, based on ‘points per game’ sees a well-deserved promotion for Phoenix, but relegation for Brighouse Sports, Ilkley Town and Thackley Reserves, with the new divisional allocations to be confirmed at a later date.

Athletico have been playing friendlies throughout the summer, including a good 3–2 win against Leeds Hyde Park and an 8–2 loss to a Farsley Junior Reserves XI, the latter saw good goals from ex-Bradford (Park Avenue) strikers Ikra Ali and Megan Sparkes.

On July 18, they are to play a Bradford (Park Avenue) XI.

Also on July 18, Bradford City Women entertain Farsley Celtic Women at Eccleshill United.

The following Sunday they are at Hull City, they host Lincoln City on August 1, and then they are at AFC Darwen, before their FA Women's National League Division One North games start on August 15.

Bradford (Park Avenue)’s new development side are looking for an assistant manager, to be available Thursday evenings and on matchdays. An FA level 1 qualification and first aid training are required, with any enquiries to be made to BradfordParkAvenueLAFC@hotmail.com.

Phoenix are currently arranging their pre-season programme, and are looking for teams to play. Contact should be made through the club’s social media.

Silsden have a home game on July 25 against Belvedere. They are then on the road with games against Huddersfield Amateur at Old Earth, and Morley Town on August 8 at Woodkirk Academy.

Thackley are also away to Morley on July 25.

The 2021-22 FA Cup is scheduled to begin with the extra preliminary round on August 15, and the Preliminary Round on August 29.
