THE 2021/22 Vanarama National League North fixtures have been announced, and The Lions’ season begins with a visit from AFC Fylde to Nethermoor on Saturday 14th August.

After a wait of 525 days, Lions fans can return to watch their team both at Nethermoor and on the road.

The league season kicks off on Saturday 14th August where, under current guidance, fans will be able to attend Lions home and away matches once again, the season will end on Saturday 7th May with a home game trip to Russ O’Neill’s former side Alfreton Town.

Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill’s side have four fixtures in August with visits from AFC Flyde and Gloucester City whilst travelling to Curzon Ashton and Gateshead.

The traditional festive double header will see the Lions travel to Farsley Celtic on Boxing Day with the return fixture on Sunday 2nd January, a home game with Bradford (Park Avenue) is sandwiched between those two fixtures on Tuesday 28th December, the return fixture at Horsfall takes place on Easter Monday 18th April.

December also includes a visit from York City on Saturday 4th, with The Lions travelling to North Yorkshire on Saturday 26th February.

There’s also trips to four new grounds for the travelling Lions fans to visit including Boston United’s The Jakemans Community Stadium, York City’s LNER Community Stadium, Kettering Town’s Latimer Park and Gloucester City’s new Meadow Park Stadium back in their home city.

In other news, Guiseley welcome the Government’s announcement on the 5th July, in which it was declared that sporting venues and events would no longer need to operate behind closed doors or at a reduced capacity.

Whilst the Lions understand the excitement to get back to Nethermoor and view the pre-season friendlies, the Lions also need to wait for the FA to issue any updated guidance, and for the government to formally sign off the final step of the roadmap on the 12th July.

As such, no further tickets will be made available for their fixtures against Leeds United (27th July) and Bradford City (20th July) until next week at the earliest.

The club's fixture against Everton U23’s on the 17th July takes place under the current restrictions and for this fixture 300 tickets remain, which can be purchased through their website.
