THE Ineos Grenadiers have announced that Tom Pidcock will miss the upcoming Tour de Suisse after suffering a broken collarbone in a training crash in Andorra on Monday.

Pidcock, 21, was due to make his return to the road this weekend, having taken time out last month to race his mountain bike in the build-up to the Tokyo Olympics, with his participation at the Games now potentially in doubt.

Pidcock is from Leeds, and though he rides elsewhere now, he was a Paul Milnes team member, whose shop and business is based in Bradford.

Four years ago, he opened a new purpose-built cycling track at Horton Park Primary School on the Canterbury estate, just one element of their new £100,000 outdoor play area.

Pidcock was World Junior Cyclocross Champion at the time.

Three years ago, as a member of Otley Cycling Club, he broke the course record on their 'Triangle' time trial route, at the age of just 18.
