THE Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club were back in action for the first time this year when a trial was staged at Dob Park last Sunday.

There were 55 entries, including five small wheelers, who competed in a six section course in the east end of Dob Park.

The main course took place in Dob Park and the adjacent Brown's Wood, which is now bereft of half its title now all the trees have gone.

The expert field was well up to standard, with Richard Sadler topping the hard route results from a be-whiskered Ben Hemingway and his nephew Harry, who has shot up in size.

Jack Challoner took third place behind Ben Hemingway.

The Hemingway boys, Harry and George, ran off with the youth class on the hard route.

Ilkley's Andrew Tales won Clubman A riding his TRS machine from John Bannister by one mark, with Daniel Hole just two penalties behind.

After his class wining Falcon ride, Cullingworth's Robin Luscombe got his BSA Bantam home well clear of Simon Cowburn in Clubman B.

Only five small wheelers turned out and the class winners were Koby Smith and Alanna Eagleton.

Her father Nick galloped round the sections following her, which was not bad going as he had won his class at the Falcon trial the previous day.
