CROSSHILLS produced an eye-catching display to claim victory in the Craven & District Football League Premier Division Cup quarter-final over the weekend.

They faced a trip to rock-bottom Carleton Sports Club and ran out 6-4 winners, with Billy Bailey and Ben Crispin both collecting braces.

An eventful start to the game saw Crosshills take a 3-2 half-time lead, while it was a tale of two youngsters in the second half.

Sixteen-year-old substitute Bradley McDonnell clipped a delightful cross on to the head of Bailey to increase the lead, with the assist capping an excellent performance from the teenager.

Ben Sharp, another 16-year-old substitute, added his first goal of the campaign, shortly before Crispin’s long range strike sealed the victory.

Away from the cup, the Premier Division saw Grassington United thrash Skipton Town 7-2 away from home.

An Ollie Hunter hat-trick provided Grassington with the points needed to increase their lead at the top of the table to six points.

Silsden Whitestar's clash against FC Sporting Keighley was postponed.

Settle United Reserves produced a valiant display to claim a shock 2-2 draw at home to table-toppers Grassington United Reserves in Division One.

Elsewhere, Addingham collected all three points in a 6-2 victory away to Broomhill.

Otley Town A and Salts 4ths Craven met in the Division Three Cup, with Otley securing a thrilling 4-3 home victory to see them through to the next round.

Tom Jessop provided the hosts with a double.

In the league, Hellifield Sports edged out Crosshills Reserves to record a 2-1 away victory, in a pivotal clash at the top of the table.

Addingham Reserves versus FC Sporting Keighley Reserves was postponed.

There are some issues with fixtures in the Craven League, as coronavirus rules mean grassroots players and clubs cannot travel in/out of Tier 3 areas.

The league straddles multiple areas, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Lancashire, so it remains to be seen how fixtures will pan out moving forward.
