ILKLEY Town's perfect record was slightly damaged as they played out a 0-0 draw at West Yorkshire League Premier favourites Beeston St Anthony.

Simon Armstrong's men had won all of their six previous fixtures this season and were in pole position to continue that run when their opponents went down to 10.

The visitors had their first chance 15 minutes in when George Gomersall's free kick from 30 yards out was parried away by Beeston’s Alex Houghton.

Ilkley got their first corner of the game towards the end of the first half when Adam Davy got on the end of the cross, but his header went just wide of the net.

Town started the second half brightly when Harry Brown went for goal after finding space inside the box, but his shot was cleared off the line.

Things got more difficult for Beeston when Sam Ackeroyd got sent off.

Ilkley’s Charlie Nixon then had a pop at goal from long-range,but his shot went over the bar.

Despite, the away side having a man advantage for large spell of the final period, they couldn’t find that all important goal to give them the three points.
