POOL clearly do not respond well to enforced breaks in the season as they lost 3-0 at East End Park on Saturday.

Having been on a run of excellent form before Christmas, the three-week break caused by the holiday and weather saw them go down to a heavy defeat in their first match back in Division One of the West Yorkshire League.

They were nicely back on track before the weather intervened again, this time a four-week break, and another defeat to follow.

All that said, after a slow start and against the wind, Pool had the bulk of the play in the first half without creating too many chances.

East End Park, meanwhile, relied primarily on ‘route one’ down the middle, over hitting with the wind so causing Pool few problems.

The second half started in much the same vein, however, with the wind against them, Park’s first long ball held up giving their forwards time to create a chance which was taken comfortably.

Pool continued to push forward, but when they gave the ball away it gave Park space to get into the box and score two more goals.

Meanwhile, a brace Jack Richmond and goals by Connor Wilson and Mark McGee saw third placed Otley Town draw 4-4 at home to Glasshoughton Rock.

Goals by Callum Murgatroyd and Oliver Nightingale saw sixth placed Rawdon Old Boys win 2-1 at Wyke Wanderers.
