RAWDON Old Boys beat Hartshead 4-2 at home in West Yorkshire League Division One to close the gap between the two sides to one point.

Seventh-placed Rawdon also have three games in hand on their visitors.

Dan Pickles scored a double, while Lewis Nightingale and Craig Nicholls claimed the other goals.

Second-placed Otley Town closed the gap to four points as they sought to chase down leaders Shelley, whose game at home to Oxenhope was a victim of the weather.

Town claimed a 1-0 victory at home to Aberford Albion, with Mark McGee getting the winner.

Otley remain in the hunt for the title, with two games in hand on the visitors. In the next round of fixtures, they face a trip to sixth-placed Hartshead.

In the Premier Division, second-placed Ilkley Town's game at home to third-placed Field was postponed.

That saw leaders Beeston extend their lead to 15 points at the summit after they claimed a 1-0 victory away at Boroughbridge.

Division Two teams were left kicking their heels as all games were postponed due to wet weather.

Leaders Brighouse Sports Old Boys will be hoping to resume their title push with a home fixture against Kellingley Welfare this Saturday.

Otley Town reserves suffered a 4-0 defeat in Alliance Division One with goals coming from James Wilson, Thomas Butterfield and two from Luke Arnett.

In losing the game, Otley missed the chance to climb up to 10th place in the table. They now face a crucial home fixture in the next round of fixtures against Huddersfield Amateur reserves as they aim to escape the bottom three. A victory would ensure this.

Brighouse Sports Old Boys Reserves claimed a 2-1 victory over Wyke Wanderers reserves in the only game of the weekend in Alliance Division Two to move one point off seventh place. Evrad Mpouli scored a brace to seal the victory.

This weekend, Wyke face an away trip to Altofts Reserves whilst Brighouse travel to Pool.

Ilkley Town reserves, who are nine points clear at the summit, travel to Sherburn White Roses reserves in a big top of the table clash.
