ILKLEY Harriers' men had a day to remember at the Chevin Chase on Boxing Day as they notched a stunning 1-2-3-4.
Jack Wood defended his crown in the festive favourite, which starts and finishes in Guiseley with a muddy loop of the Chevin in between.
Wood was content to bide his time before powering into the lead in the closing stages from clubmate Nathan Edmondson and he eased clear to cross the line 15 seconds to the good.
Jack Cummings also finished strongly to move into third when it mattered, 10 seconds behind Edmondson and eight in front of Tom Adams who rounded off the awesome foursome.
And if anyone thought they were seeing double - or even treble - then they were, with Wood and Adams both sporting Pudsey and Bramley kit plus black wigs to mimic friend Joe Baxter who finished just behind in seventh in a high-class top ten, who all went under 41 minutes despite the testing conditions.
No fewer than 42 Harriers took part in the 1,000+ field, many in fancy dress and all cheered on by hundreds of spectators along the route - the perfect way to blow away any Christmas Day excesses.
And there were also prizes for both Tim Ashelford (first V55) and Rachel Carter (first F40).
The popular and highly competitive Ribble Valley 10k attracted 17 Ilkley Harriers last Saturday.
Dom Coy was first Harrier home in a spectacular time of 33:26. There were three more sub-40 minute times - Nick Helliwell 37:29, Mike Abrams-Cohen 38:00 and Dave Westhead 38:49, closely followed by Brit Tate in 40:38.
Catherine Gibbons and Sally Malir finished close together in 43:47 and 43:50, respectively, Malir winning first FV50.
Helen Waddington and Alison Bennett also had great results finishing in 48:22 and 48:27, respectively, with Jane Norman and Hilda Coulsey following in 50:40 and 52:20, Coulsey finishing second FV65. The third FV65 went to Bernie Gibbons from Ilkley in 56:44.
There were also plenty of notable Parkrun displays over the busy festive period.
Whilst the 5km events around the country are very much run-for-all occasions rather than races, the Saturday before Christmas saw four Harriers dip under 16 minutes.
Jack Wood (15:14) and Tom Adams (15:40) were first and second at York, Cameron Reilly (15:58) smashed it at Fountains Abbey for the win, and Oli Murphy (15:54) did the same at Morecambe.
Nearer home, Rachel Carter was the first female at Bradford while Geoff Howard and Tim Ashelford both remain in excellent form with fantastic age-graded results.
On Christmas Day itself, Cameron Reilly doubled up with a victory at Bradford while Beth Massey was first lady at Barnsley and Catherine Gibbons was second at Skipton, both with sub-22 minute times.
Massey followed that with the top spot for the ladies at Bradford on Saturday and Jann Smith matched that feat at Cliffe Castle.
Smith also figured prominently in the Tinsel Torch Run from Skipton just before Christmas, taking 10th overall and third lady.
