IN addition to staging the 41st Chevin Chase on Boxing Day, the Airecentre Pacers joined 100,000 participants nationally for Christmas Day Parkruns proves that many runners love their Parkrun fix on Christmas morning.

Several Pacers turned up at Bradford Lister Park for one of the local events along with 380 others, Carole Keighley winning her age group in 27:19. Further afield, Sheila Rosalind supported Cheltenham Parkrun whilst visiting the area.

There were more Parkrun heroics last Saturday with a trio of Pacers travelling to Scunthorpe where Andrew Humphries continued his fine form with a swift 16:30 second place.

Debbie Bland, meanwhile, secured first FV65 placing at Bradford Parkrun and Chris Hill won his MV65 age group at Leeds Woodhouse Moor.

The Bradford event was notable for a stunning record breaking run of 15:47 by James Haberghan and a huge turnout of 521 runners.

Paul Grindley, meanwhile, put in a great 22:15 run at Skipton Parkrun.

Finally, two Pacers travelled to Clitheroe on Sunday for the prestigious Ribble Valley 10k, which attracts a talented field of top road runners.

This year the first three home broke last year's course record with the winner taking just 28:32 for the 10k.

Karen Kempton recorded a fine 58:21 personal best for Pacers while Bland won the first FV65 prize in 49:55 – her 46th age group win of the year.
