THACKLEY can vault to the top of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, for a few hours at least, with a win at Hemsworth Miners Welfare tonight.
They are currently being kept off top spot by leaders Bridlington Town on goal difference, but with theirs the only Friday fixture, they can steal a march on everyone else, in what has been an incredibly tight start to the season.
Liversedge, like Thackley, are on 10 points, and they missed the chance to go top themselves after falling to a 4-2 home defeat against Knaresborough Town on Tuesday night.
Liam Marsden and Oliver Fearon scored for Sedge to bring them level from 2-0 down, but a pair of late Knaresborough goals secured an away win.
Sedge will look to make amends with a win at AFC Mansfield this weekend.
Bridlington, who are top, beat another Bradford side, Eccleshill United, last weekend. Speaking to his club's website after that 3-0 defeat, Eccleshill's new signing Josh Taylor felt that a raft of injuries had hampered his side.
He also shed light on his start to life at the club, saying: "I knew Lee (Elam), the manager, so I knew the club was going in the right direction, so that's the main thing that interested me really.
"And then the fact that Talent (Ndlovu) came, good player. Aran Basi's a good player. So, I know the club has a lot of potential."
Taylor knows Ndlovu well, having attended the same secondary school as him. Referring to their relationship, he said: "(It's) really good (the bond), it's good on the pitch as well, we link up well.
"We've played with each other before. The more we play, it can only get better."
Despite the talent within the side, Eccleshill are currently fourth bottom and could do with a home win against mid-table Maltby Main tomorrow.
