BRADFORD (Park Avenue) started their run of home games in the North East Regional Women’s League Southern Division with an entertaining 5-5 draw against York RI.

York took the lead, but were pegged back by a good Millie West strike to make it 1-1 at half-time. In the second half, York again took the lead, but there was a quick response from Nat Bell.

Then York went 4-2 ahead before letting Bell complete her hat-trick to again level the scores. With three minutes remaining, York thought they’d nicked it but Kirsty Russell scrambled a last-gasp equaliser.

This week, Avenue are at their new home, Field AFC, for Wakefield Trinity’s visit.
