WINIFRED Varley’s President’s Day at Otley Golf Club was blessed with good weather and excellent course conditions.

Varley was grateful for all the assistance she received in providing a memorable day and friendly competition.

She will be present the main prize of the day to the winner, Kirsten Parker, at the club’s prize presentation evening in October.

Mark Warren achieved the best result of the day whilst winning the second division of the Men’s Bogey/Par competition.

Results were: Division One - Alex Harm (2) +4, T Rockett (12) +2, S Pilling (12) +1; Division Two - M Warren (15) +5, A Halliday (14) +3, D A Taylor (14) +3; Division Three: B Grimmitt (21) +3, A Williamson (20) +1, I Watt (22) 0.

The ladies played their Medal in conjunction with the first round of the 36-Hole Trophy competition.

The best gross of the day belonged to Michele Reynolds, but it was Morag Wilkinson’s name that will appear on the trophy after her 36-hole nett of 146.

Medal results were: Division One - J Ettenfield 86 (14) 72, M Reynolds 84 (10) 74, M Wilkinson 86 (10) 76; Division Two - J Monkman 94 (23) 71, L Waters 97 (25) 72, R Harrison 96 (21) 75; Division Three - H Grantham 108 (33) 75, G Pinkney 111 (34) 77, F Williams 114 (34) 80; Division Four - F Porter 126 (43) 83.

Nine-hole competition winner was P Joule with 15 points.
