BOTH Gillian Mowat and Ian Lomas enjoyed good weather and full support from the members for their respective Captain’s Days at Otley Golf Club.

Excellent course conditions contributed to some good scoring.

An ABBA tribute band provided evening entertainment and a ‘fun day’ competition completed an excellent time.

The recipients of the major prizes were:

Ladies’ Captain’s Prize: K Llewellyn 96 (31) 65; Best gross score - T Batty 82; Division One – C Hughes 84 (10) 74, J Dent 94 (17) 77; Division Two – P Padden 94 (23) 71, J Wood 98 (21) 77; Division Three – M Ainsley 112 (35) 77, P Smith 109 (29) 80; Division Four – F Porter 127 (43) 84, J Jex 141 (54) 87.

Men’s Captain’s Prize: S Wilcock 65; Best gross score – P Tomkinson 71; Division One – J Boswell 68, H Mould 69, P Young 69; Division Two – S Hollidge 68, A Holder 70, S Love 71; Division Three – J Patterson 69*, P Agnew 69, J Bates 74.

In other results at Otley, Morag Wilkinson, Ritsuko Corless and Cathy Lamb won the ladies Team of Three Am-Am Stableford on a count-back by with 68 points.

Patrick Young finished with 37 points in the Mid-Week Stableford, a point clear of Terry Rockett and Tony Windle.

Windle had another third-place finish, this time in the Second Division of Saturday’s July Medal, played in conjunction with Bruce Davidson’s Rabbits’ Chairman’s competition.

Simon Bradley won the Rabbits’ Chairman’s prize after shooting a nett 64 to win the first division.
