THE Airecentre Pacers sent a 25-strong team to the first Harrogate District Summer League (HDSL).

It was an impressive performance for the club as well, with the lion's share of that squad finishing under the hour mark for a course of just under 10km.

The race around Harrogate and Peter Branney led the Pacers home with a time of 36 minutes 44 seconds.

He was followed by Richard Walker 38.27, Hristo Peshev 44.17, William Woodhead 45.04, Robert Dawrant 45.13 and Simon Molyneaux 45.47.

Paul Grindley was just four seconds behind with a time of 45.51, as he outsprinted Sally Haigh who crossed at 46.02.

The other finishers included: Francesca Gatenby 47.43, Liam Oliver 47.44, Graham Turner 48.30, Nicholas Leathley 49.01, Debbie Bland 49.47, Sally Christey 51.28, Faye Cameron 52.46, Rhona Neilson 53.16, Margaret Britton 54.07, Carole Keighley 54.10, Helen Alcock 55.05, Jill Howard 59.41, Dorothy Darnbrough 1.01.22 and Amanda Connor 1.03.26.

Meanwhile, four Pacers took part in the Fountains 10k - a mixed terrain race including off-road trails and scenic moorland around Nidderdale.

Richard Walker was first in at 39.25, with both Jennifer and Emma Sebright-Pickard just over 10 minutes behind with times of 53.23 and 53.46 respectively. Five minutes later, Jason Stowe crossed the line at 58.49.

The inaugural Cookridge Community 10k trail run took place on the same day, with five Pacers involved in this one.

Amy Llewellyn came home first for the club across the multi-terrain course which started in Cookridge and passed through Golden Acre Park.

She bagged a time of 56.44, but the rest weren't far behind, Andy Gledhill coming in at 58.21, Sharon Elms with 59.15, Amanda Connolly with 59.14 and Vicky Hawley rounding the group off with 1.05.07.

Earlier in the month, the final race of the John Carr Series took place at the starting point Saltaire's Robert's Park.

This was a three lots of three miles trail relay that passed through Shipley Glen.

One of the Pacer teams just missed out on top-spot in the mixed team category, grabbing second thanks to the impressive performances of Kate McFarlane (25.02), Richard Walker (22.02) and Andrew Humphries (20.29).

They were followed by the club's other team competing in the same category, which included Paul Grindley (24.42), Sally Haigh (27.55) and Hristo Peshev (25.23). Their efforts bagged them 10th place in the race.

There was only one Pacer to complete the Ravenscar Half-Marathon this year, which incorporates scenic off-road routes along the cliffs.

It was Nicolas Leathley who was flying the flag for the club, racing to a time of 2.04.34.

Finally, the most recent event saw a winner from the club at the Northallerton 10k in the form of Debbie Bland.

She came first in her age category with a time of 52.42, while Claire Hunter got herself a personal best time of 55.15 just behind.
