THE Airecentre Pacers team secured a series of personal best times at the Bradford 10K on Sunday.

The Pacers’ large team pounded the pavements amongst the 3,000 participants of the mainly flat course in blustery conditions.

Owain Gwilym (39.06) led home the men’s team, followed by Tom Gifford (45.03, personal best), Chris Hill (46.20), Andy Gledhill (53.25) and Ewen Pearson (1.02.41, personal best).

Helen Waite (50.12, personal best) was the fastest female Pacer, followed by Sally Christey (50.45, personal best), Sharon Elms (52.16, personal best), Charlotte Connolly-Hall (54.38), Amanda Connolly (54.50), Rachel Jovanovic (54.53), Helen Alcock (54.53), Tasha Nishiyama (58.30), Cheryl Duerden (59.11, personal best), Sue Milnes (1.00.02) and Vicky Hawley (1.00.26).

Andrew Smith laced up and achieved his goal to complete the Thirsk 10 Mile in under an hour (58.51).

He said: “Sub one hour 10 mile: Mission accomplished! Seven attempts of blood, sweat and tears were all worth it. It was a fantastic blustery but sunny morning in Thirsk.”

Smith was followed home by Richard Walker (1.04.14, personal best) and Simon Walker (1.37.10).

Finally, Debbie Bland was the first female in the over 65 age category in the Wigan Half Marathon (1.56.54) and Sally Haigh (22.58) was the first female home at the Bradford Parkrun in Lister Park.
