BEN Rhydding were edged out 3-2 by visitors Bowdon, but despite the hosts' disappointment at the result, they were satisfied with their performance and the electric level of this game.

Rhydding were on the back foot at the start and conceded from a corner within the first five minutes.

However, the hosts then got their rhythm and began to gain the upper hand but the Bowdon keeper made excellent saves to deny two good corner attempts.

The game was end-to-end but it was Ben Rhydding who netted next to draw level. The hosts demonstrated a textbook counter attack after a Bowdon corner broke down; three passes and a slide from Max Helme later, they had scored a fantastic goal.

Some impressive defending was called upon for Rhydding but a Bowdon corner found its way into the net to give them the lead back just before half time.

Bowdon scored from a corner with just five minutes left to go 3-1 up, but Rhydding came back at them, with a corner reply from Myles Locke.

It was too late and Bowdon took the win but this was surely one of the most impressive and competitive games seen in the league so far this season.
