RIDERS from Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club took part in the annual Dave Curry Trophy novice trial at Ramsgill on Sunday.
The Upper Nidderdale venue was shrouded in fog and dampened by rain, but Mark and Ben Yeadon plotted a testing ten section course with streams, climbs and plenty of rocky sections.
On the adult course Fewston electrician James Noble got his Montesa home on a clean sheet from Aldis Blacker and Michael Benn. The latter dropped two marks in the second section on lap three and another in section eight. Aldis lost two in the sixth and that sorted the youthesult.
Four youths competed in the youth class where Otley’s Harry McLoughlin was a clear winner.
The nine small wheel class riders headed over to the east pastures for grassy climbs and moderate stream sections with skill variations.
There were three small wheels courses and Otley girl Ruby Lawrie won the easy route.
