YEADON-Guiseley Motor Club trials rider Paul Gravestock finished third in the Clubman class in the Derek Lickers Memorial Trial at Fellbeck on Sunday.

The annual trial, which is hosted by Ripon Motor Club, was well supported but once again the roaming acres of Kingston Farm were hit by the weather.

On Sunday morning the white frost that coated the district was accompanied by gale force winds that were so strong they could blow over both observers and riders.

In view of the artic conditions the competitors soon got round three laps and 14 sections. A total of 64 riders contended six classes.

Glasshouses man Danny Gamble recorded his second trial victory in seven days taking the Expert class from Ben Hemingway and Rob Waite.

Gravestock, hunting for West Yorkshire Championship points, finished third in the Clubman A behind class winner Andrew Jackson and runner-up Neil Gaunt.
