ILKLEY Lawn Tennis & Squash Club have a new addition to their coaching staff.
Former Great Britain player Joanna Craven, who has worked at Rawdon LTC in the past and has a win over former world number four Johanna Konta, is now part of the club's performance team.
Yorkshire ladies' playing captain Craven, who started her new role this month, said: "Over the last few years, I have worked at David Lloyd Leeds, Nuffield Health Tennis Academy Hull and Rawdon Lawn Tennis Club.
"As well as working in the clubs, I have been heavily involved in Yorkshire Tennis.
"I am part of the county training coaching team, along with Kyle Brassington (Ilkley LTC's performance tennis director) and I am currently a Yorkshire ladies' player and captain.
"I have a strong playing background. I was British junior number one, I held WTA (Women's Tennis Association) rankings in singles and doubles and then went on to play college tennis in the USA before beginning my coaching career.
"I have become a lot more involved in performance tennis over the last few years and have worked alongside some top performance coaches."
Meanwhile, Ilkley LTSC has been selected as an LTA Local Player Development Centre (LPDC).
Brassington said: "This is a great achievement for our club and shows the hard work the coaching team and the players have put in over the past few years."
