RUNNING the Turner Landscape, Otley AC's Tom Lynch finished in a highly respectable time of one hour, 53 minutes and 13 seconds.

His teammate Graham Lake also produced a sterling effort on a tricky course, which features 3,500 feet of climbing, to come home in 1:59:13, in a race which was won by Carl Bell in 1:24:12.

There was also Otley representation in the top 10 in the form of local resident Adam Osborne, who competes for Leeds City AC.

The 11-mile run starts and finishes at Turner Hall and the major climbs come in the first half of the route, which goes past Seathwaite Tarn and up to Swirl How.

This is followed by a ridge run, taking in the Old Man of Coniston, before dropping down quickly back to the campsite.

Lake led the Otley pair up the climb but Lynch clawed back the gap as the route flattened out, and he pressed home this advantage on the downhill section.

Lynch beat Lake by exactly six minutes, and the pair, who had gone for a weekend of drinking and camping in the Lakes with members of another local running club, Horsforth Fellanddale, could be satisfied with their efforts.
