Pool 2 Beeston St Anthony's 5

POOL were undone from set pieces in their first appearance in the West Riding Challenge Cup semi-finals at Woodlesford.

Four of Beeston's goals came from corners and the fifth was scored from the penalty spot.

Pool looked to have settle down comfortably against their strong opponents until they gave away a

corner which led to an unmarked striker heading home.

The game was evenly contested with Pool threatening on a number of occasions through Matthew Nebard.

With half-time looming another failure to clear a corner saw a Beeston striker fire home from an awkward angle.

It was always going to be an uphill battle for Pool from this point as yet another corner early in the second half saw a near repeat of the first goal to give Beeston a 3-0 lead.

Pool never gave up and pulled a goal back when a good move through midfield resulted in Tom Fleming placing his shot perfectly to give Pool a glimmer of hope.

Unfortunately, this was short lived as a Beeston forward was brought down in the area having lost control of the ball, the resulting penalty being despatched confidently. When yet another corner was met at the far post Beeston scored a fifth goal.

Still Pool didn't throw in the towel and young Harvey Atkinson crossed for Jamie Algar to fire home a consolation goal.
