MARK Bower is urging greater consistency from his side as they prepare for a double-header of home games against two of the biggest clubs in the National League.
Wrexham visit Nethermoor on Saturday before Tranmere Rovers, another promotion-chasing side, arrive on Tuesday.
Bower, who will assess assistant manager Danny Boshell's fitness after he felt his hamstring against Braintree, said: “There needs to be some improved performances when Wrexham come because it’s a game for the lads to get up for.
“It just felt a bit flat in the first 20 minutes against Braintree, but we’ve had a good week in training and will put last weekend behind us and look to go again.
“Wrexham are one of the big sides in this league and they will bring a fair few fans with them on Saturday.
“I thought we had a great game at their place with the 3-3 draw a few months ago, but the lads have got to get greater consistency.
“We can’t afford to be so up and down and need a more consistent level of performance.
“That’s the challenge with two big games coming up against Wrexham on Saturday and Tranmere on Tuesday.”
