Otliensians 3York St John's 0

With other teams chasing Otliensians' position in the league, this was a must win fixture. Otliensians took advantage of the opposition's late arrival and lack of preparation when a well positioned Hannah Holmes tapped in Otliensians' first goal from a Caroline Brown cross.

Despite the early lead, the opposition seemed to dominate the game keeping the home defence on their toes. Thankfully Otliensians' keeper Naomi Burden kept the home team in the game. With the opposition pushing their players up the field to equalise, their defence became vulnerable.

Thanks to midfielder Becky Caisley's good distribution Player-of-the-Match Jodi Rockett was able to drive the ball up the wing giving the attackers several scoring opportunities.

The next goal came from fluid play from a ball fed from midfield for Sarina Corney to pick up and swipe into the goal from a top D position. The half- time score was 2-0.

The second-half was more evenly matched with both sides linking well and exerting equal pressure. However, pushing up Otliensians' defence provided the opportunity to increase attacking play.

The pressure paid off when Otliensians were awarded a penalty corner for Hayley Robinson to squeeze in from a tight angle.

New team mascot Edward Joce-Simpson expressed his delights at Otliensians' continuing good form.

Leeds Fourths 5 Otliensians Seconds 0

Otliensians second team faced a tough game away to top-of-the-table Leeds fourths on Saturday and went into the game missing some of their key players.

Otliensians got off to a strong start. Through excellent defensive play and outstanding saves from goalkeeper Alison Wilkinson Otliensians managed to keep out the continuous attempts on goal from Leeds.

Leeds continued to apply the pressure and Otliensians were unlucky to concede one goal before half-time.

In the second-half Otliensians continued to defend well but the fitness of the young Leeds team overwhelmed Otliensians who conceded four more goals.

In midfield Nina Rockett, Lynsay Davenport, Becky Lister and Jill Craven worked tirelessly but despite their efforts to get the ball through to the forward line Leeds were too strong and fast on the day.

Player-of-the-Match was awarded to Alison Wilkinson from both teams for her excellent display of goalkeeping.
