An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.
The incident involving a Mercedes GL happened at around 8am on Tuesday in the city’s Southhouse Avenue.
Police say the 92-year-old pedestrian was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she later died.
Inquiries are continuing and police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
Constable Declan Fitzpatrick said: “Our sincerest sympathies are with the woman’s family and friends at this time. Our investigation to establish the full circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
“I would again appeal for members of the public with information, or motorists with relevant dash-cam footage to contact police immediately.”
