WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: Celebrations are planned for the 25th birthday of Ben Rhydding WI at their next monthly meeting on Thursday, May 8. We will be indulging ourselves with scones, cream, jam and a special cake made by Julie Gilbey for the occasion. The WI resolutions for 2014 will be discussed and we are also hoping to be entertained, if not a little scared, by some stories of ghostly encounters from one of our members. The competition is for an example of members’ craft work. As always, we meet at Ben Rhydding Methodist Church Hall at 2pm and welcome visitors at a cost of £3 and prospective members.

FLAT GREEN BOWLS CLUB: The club has opened for the summer season for what promises to be a thrilling and action-packed time whether it be with a relaxing afternoon game of bowls or a local league match.
