Students from Horsforth School have won accolades at the Shakespeare Schools Festival with their contemporary version of Romeo and Juliet.
The teenagers received impressive feedback from the audience at the West Yorkshire Playhouse with their performance of a fast paced adaptation of the tragic love story.
The work was inspired by practitioners such as Knee High and Berkoff, and complete with modern soundtrack Director Stephanie Kendal complimented the cast of Year 12 students on their commitment.
“We cast the play in July but basically put the play together in four weeks,” she said. “They are a great team and their final performance was brilliant”.
