Meet Rachel Brown, the winner of our competition to find the Face of Mint.
For the last few weeks, readers have been voting for their favourites in an exciting competition to find a new face to lead Mint Boutique’s promotions campaign.
And the four finalists chosen by our readers faced the judges this week.
As well as Rachel, the judges interviewed Sadie Brassington, Hannah Foster and Georgina Arundel. The judges’ votes were combined with the readers’ votes, and Rachel emerged as the winner.
Rachel, 23, of Connaught Road, Ilkley, is studying education and child psychology at the University of Leeds.
She is 5ft 11in tall and a size 8-10. Although she hasn’t done any modelling before, she is keen to make a career in the fashion world.
Currently, her interests include shopping, nannying, gym and swimming.
The judges, Jo Cookson, from Ilkley-based Thames Fashion Productions, Becki Caden, owner of Mint Boutique, photographer Tony Binns, who took portfolio pictures of all the entrants, and Sheena Stavert, editor of Wharfedale Newspapers.
As well as becoming the face for all of Mint’s promotional activity over the year ahead, Rachel will model for Mint in catwalk shows.
Her prize includes £500 to spend in Mint, at 7a Railway Road, Ilkley, a make-over at Shine hair salon in Ilkley, and professional Mac make-up and hair styling before each show.
