A week of festivities at York Gate Garden, Adel, will be launched with a special lunch hosted by Toby Buckland, presenter of BBC Gardeners’ World, on Monday, July 13 – and you could be the lucky winner of a pair of free tickets.

Entries must be received before 9am on Tuesday, July 7. The winner will be notified by email on the same day.

During the week the festival will feature a wide range of events including a photographic workshop with the head gardener of the National Trust’s Bodnant Gardens, a wine tasting evening, poetry evening, art demonstration by Yorkshire artist Jeremy Ford, and a bridge competition.

On Saturday, July 18, the garden will open its gates to the whole family with children’s activities and live music during the day culminating in a ceilidh and hog roast in the evening. It will end on Sunday, July 19, with a day focussed on the gardener with a mini plant fair and talk by BBC Radio Leeds presenter Joe Maiden.
