IN recent times Barnoldswick Town have found victories hard to come by, but Saturday saw the Lancashire side return to winning ways in emphatic fashion.

Having not claimed three points for five fixtures, Barlick came into the weekend's fixture at home to FC Isle of Man with a real lack of confidence, but any neutral spectator wouldn't have known that as they dispatched the visitors 5-2 with a classy home display.

Jack Foster, Ryan Moore, Connor High and a brace from the prolific Gareth Hill got the job done for Barlick.

However, it would be the visitors who found themselves ahead after Callum Jakovlevs miscued a kick straight into the path of Thomas Creer, who gratefully accepted the gift to put the visitors ahead.

On the 26th minute the hosts levelled the scores, with Foster despatching calmly after missing a gilt-edged chance moments earlier.

Six minutes later and Barlick had flipped the game on its head, with Moore meeting a Luke Stowe cross to guide his side into a 2-1 lead.

After the interval, it didn't take long for the hosts to extend their lead and it was the Hill brothers who combined to great effect. Andy delivered a pinpoint corner into the box, where Gareth was waiting to head home. 3-1 to Barlick.

And on minute 63 the game was out of sight. Stowe collected the ball out wide before placing another wicked delivery into the away side's penalty area, and there was Gareth Hill once again rto guide the ball home for his second of the afternoon.

Daniel Gerrard pulled one back for the visitors with the clock running down, but up stepped High to restore the home side's three-goal advantage, Stowe being the provider once again for his 3rd assist of the afternoon to wrap up an outstanding 5-2 victory against 8th placed opposition,

Up next for Barlick, who remain in 17th, is a home fixture against Burscough tomorrow evening (7:45 pm).
