RECENTLY 2nd Otley (Methodist) Brownies presented a cheque to Nicola Horner (a member of Otley Carnival committee and a Rainbow helper) in memory of Sarah Jackson, a Brownie mum who died suddenly in the summer.
A total of £245.44 was raised at an open night, planned organised and run by all of the 25 Brownies.
Brown Owl Christine Pratt said: "Guiding is girl led and this was a wonderful example of what Guiding is all about. The Leaders gave some help but it was the girl's idea to do this. We are so proud of all of them."
Families, friends and church members came to support the girls. Activities included Guess the name of the Teddy, tombola, guess the number of sweets in the jar, find the treasure, plus an opportunity to buy doggie treats and jewellery made by the girls. Refreshments were also available. Some of the girls also played recorders.
