Starting on Sunday, May 7th there are some new Open Mic events coming up at The Black Horse in Otley.

A spokesperson said: "The first event is 'Anyway You Want It!' If you have got talent we want it. Singers, duos, trios, bands, comedians, magicians, astrological readers, poets, puppeteers, dancers, you name it we will take it! Slots will be two songs per performer or 10 minutes to take the stage. There will also be a 45 minute slot at the end of each session for an extended performance for local talent to be heard and get some exposure - with 30 per cent of the door to go in their pocket." Entry is £1 for performers, £2 for spectators. PA's, mics and instruments can be provided for no charge.

Future events are on Sunday, May 14, 6pm-10pm 'The Kids are Alright' - singers, instrumentalists and bands of all ages with priority to youth talent. Sunday, May 21, 2.30pm-5.30pm 'Suffragette City' - hosted by 'The Lost Embers' - an event focusing on female singers, duo's, bands, instrumentalists and bands led by or featuring female artists.
