A CONCERT at Otley Courthouse by celebrated folk trio Sherburn, Bartley and Sanders takes place on Friday January 20, at 8pm (tickets (£14)
Following a chance meeting at Whitby Folk Festival in 1993, Chris Sherburn (concertina) and Denny Bartley (vocals and guitar) have forged one of folk’s most enduring partnerships.
With a unique sound that's earned them plaudits across Europe and America, they're one of the busiest acts on the folk scene, both as a duo and with their group Last Night’s Fun.
In 2016 Chris and Denny joined forces with Emily Sanders (fiddle/viola and vocals), the founding member of Isamabarde, and they’ve since become a celebrated trio. Emily’s blend of vocal harmonies and fiddle playing brings an English folk sensibility to compliment the band’s more Celtic and traditional roots.
Their latest album Beguile is the first to feature Chris, Denny and Emily together, and also features Martin Simpson and Andy Seward (Kate Rusby Band).
