BURLEY-in-Wharfedale Methodist Church’s advent festival is set to return after three years.

A church spokesperson said: "At last, after three years Burley-in-Wharfedale Methodist Church is able to celebrate Advent with its annual Festival once again on Saturday, November 26th.

"The theme this year is “Simply Christmas”, and as previously local schools and nurseries have beautifully decorated the windows, and the whole church is looking festive and uplifting.

"From 12 noon to 2pm warming home-made soup will be served, then throughout the afternoon until approximately 5pm tea, coffee and delicious home-made cakes will be available. "There will be stalls selling a variety of items, including Christmas gifts, home-made jam and crafts.

"All proceeds are for our current Church charity, Zarach, helping needy children and families in Bradford.

"So whilst out and about watching the Christmas Lights Switch-on, call in at the Methodist Church and enjoy a foretaste of all the good things to enjoy during this very special time of year, and celebrate “Simply Christmas” through the creativity of our village young people."
