ON Sunday, October 30, Blubberhouses Church filled to share evensong with a new group of singers ‘The 4’ and hear Matthew Nice talk about his work at St George’s Crypt, Leeds.
The congregation were reminded of all the saints and earlier followers of Christ. Mr Nice said he stood on the shoulders of a man with faith, vision and love for the unlovely, namely Rev Robbins who had started St George’s Crypt in the centre of Leeds in the 1930s The church was bright, warm and full, decorated by flowers by Daphne Wilson. The service concluded with sharing home made cakes and refreshments and thanking ‘The 4' for their special contribution for Evensong on their debut. Blubberhouses Church welcomes visitors to spend time in reflection, shelter, prayer and meditation throughout the week and welcomes casual and regular visitors to services. On November 20th at 11am there will be a service to dedicate a new seat. All welcome.
