THE next Ilkley Manor House coffee morning will be on Friday, September 30th.
Visitors may arrive at 10.15am to get themselves refreshments and the talk will start at 10:30am. Local historian Alex Cockshott will talk about the old route of Bridge Lane along to the Old Bridge in Ilkley, dating from the Roman period.
A spokesperson said: "The bridge we use today replaced one swept away in floods of 1673. On the far bank the path came down from Middleton. Perhaps travellers late at night might have been guided by light shining from the small window at the back of the Old Castle - now the Manor House.
