DURING this time of mourning for HRH Queen Elizabeth II, St John's Church, Ben Rhydding will be open every day for personal prayer and reflection.

On Monday, September 19 , St John's will also be streaming the Queen’s state funeral on the big screen from 10am onwards.

Vicar of St. Johns, Peter Willox said: “The death of the Queen is a very emotional time for many and we want to be sure that those who want to, can watch it in company with others and don't feel they are alone.”

All are invited to attend and tea and coffee will be available. A Book of Condolence is available at the back of church and will remain open after the day of the funeral and available to read. It will then be kept as a local record of the sentiments expressed by local people on the death of the Queen.

The Rev Willox added: “The death of Her Majesty the Queen is a time of significant national mourning and St John’s wants to play a key role in the life of the nation and within our local community at this time.”

The Royal Household have requested that, if they can, parishes toll their bells for the hour immediately prior to the time of the funeral service.

Anyone who would like to join Peter in tolling the bell at St. John's between 10am to 11am on Monday, 19th September is asked to contact him to join the team on: 01943 607363 or e-mail: peterwillox@benrhydding.org.uk
