ON Saturday, July 9, I had the misfortune to trip on a protruding water pipe cover in Bridge Street, Otley, and fell, injuring my knees and hand, remaining face down unable to get up. However, an unrelated young lady midwife and gentleman came to my aid.
Initially checking that I hadn't hit my head they lifted me up to sit with my back against the wall, constantly offering reassurance, a cuppa, a lift home.
However, this was all refused because I didn't want to cause more inconvenience.
The gentleman walked me part the way home, seeing me across the road.
Unfortunately I do not remember their names, but wanted to thank them most sincerely.
